Need help preparing to take the GED Tests? Schedule an intake appointment to register for GED test prep classes. The next one is the in-person intake Friday, 14th of November at 10:00 am. It is located on the ground floor in the back right corner, E124 is the classroom. This is in the Main Library at 303 N Laura Street, Downtown. Make sure to use the parking garage at 33 W Duval St, Jacksonville, FL 32202 or a parking meter. If you park in the garage, bring your parking ticket to your appointment, so we can instruct you on getting it validated before you leave. Please no children allowed, you will be taking a reading assessment. Please be on time because we will close the door at 1010 am. The process usually lasts until 1130 am.

Join us after school every Friday afternoon for a hands-on Lego activity! Get inspired by one of our fun Lego challenges or freestyle your own creation. We can't wait to see what you can come up with! This activity is recommended for ages 5 and up.
Do you love Legos? So do we! Drop-in and join other kids who love these ever popular plastic bricks. Legos will be provided. Ages 5-12 but younger children will be welcome with adult supervision.
Love LEGO? Flex your creative muscles and join us for LEGO Club. LEGO construction is a terrific way to encourage children to participate in science-related activities by building, designing and testing solutions. From cars to candy to custom houses, every meeting we will have a challenge to spark our imaginations, and we'll also have plenty of time for free building. LEGO Club is best for kids ages 5 and up. There are small pieces at this program and is not suitable for children under 5.

Get crafty with us! Celebrate the season by making your own colorful beaded corn using beads and pipe cleaners. It’s fun, easy, and perfect for tweens and teens. All supplies provided—just bring your creativity!
Come to the library and meet Kiwi: a super soft poodle-mix that loves kids, books, and cookies. Kiwi is a licensed therapy dog and knows over 20 commands. Read her a story, and she will be your new best friend! Kids in attendance will receive a special customized tattoo, sticker of Kiwi or a magnet of Kiwi (while supplies last). This event is for children ages 5-12. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration recommended. Walk-ins are first come, first serve.
