Therapy dog-assisted reading gives children a unique experience, to read to a canine buddy in a safe environment, join us at Highlands for this fun time reading experience!
Therapy dogs are specially trained for this activity and can help reduce your child’s stress and anxiety. Reading to dogs can boost reading skills in children as well as help with emotional and social skills, giving your child the opportunity to read to a canine buddy or companion in a safe and nonjudgmental environment. Drop-in between 4:00 and 5:00pm pm every other Tuesday to give your child an opportunity to practice their reading skills one-on-one with a trained therapy dog. Spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. This activity is for all ages (everyone). Please sign-up in the Children's department during the hour before Razzle's arrival or as you arrive. Razzle and Billy love to be read to and socialized with. Attendance is limited.
