This Lit Chat Interview is the final program in the eight-part 'Conversation Series' at Jacksonville Public Library that began in May. A 60-minute program consisting of a 40-minute conversation between environmental author, educator, and lawyer Clay Henderson and Ryan Worthington followed by 20 minutes of audience Q&A. A book signing will follow, with books available for sale on site.
About the Author: Clay Henderson is an award-winning environmental lawyer, educator, and writer long involved in environmental policy. He has served as president of Florida Audubon Society and Florida Trust for Historic Preservation. His previous public service includes Florida Constitution Revision Commission, Florida Communities Trust, and Chair of the Volusia County Council. Until his retirement, he served as Executive Director of the Institute for Water and Environmental Resilience at Stetson University. He has been recognized with the national public service award from The Nature Conservancy, lifetime achievement award from Environment and Land Use Section of the Florida Bar, and Florida Trust for Historic Preservation, and an EMMY award for the documentary Protect Our Paradise. He has published four books, including Forces of Nature, an environmental history of Florida, which received the Stetson Kennedy Florida Book Award.

This is an 8-part series consisting of a variety of library programs on conservation and the environment with the Duval Audubon Society, North Florida Land Trust, and the St. Johns Riverkeeper.

Registration is required for this event, and must be completed two hours prior to the start time. A library card and PIN are required for registration. If you do not have a card, click HERE to obtain one.

1. Seating for the program will begin at 12:30 pm.
2. The maximum capacity of this venue is 30. Registered attendees will be seated first come, first serve. Bring your library card (physical or on the JaxLibrary app) for faster check-in.
3. Waitlisted attendees and walk-ins will be seated if seats are available. There may be a short wait as registered customers are seated.
4. All registered seats will be forfeited at 12:55 pm and made available to waitlisted and walk-in attendees. Registered attendees arriving after this time will be seated if seats are available.
