First Floor Meeting SpaceThis Junior Lit Chat Interview is a 30-minute presentation by author and filmmaker Nola D. Oracle including time for audience Q&A. After the program there will be 30 minutes for a book signing with the author. A limited number of copies of "Amara's Adventures: A Trip to Jacksonville Florida's African American Museums" will be given away to registered attendees, first come, first served.
About the author: Nola D. Oracle is a multi-award-winning filmmaker, author, and retired U.S. Army veteran from Jacksonville and Lake City, Florida. Her work centers around history, environmental awareness and education. She is the founder and CEO of Diaspora Whispers Studios and Diaspora Whispers Books, and the creator of the internationally acclaimed African Diasporans Hidden Kulture documentary series, honored with awards in the United States and Nigeria and showcased at the Cannes Film Market. Her directing and producing credits also include The Secret Pollinators. Through film and children’s literature, including Amara’s Adventures Series, Nola D is dedicated to inspiring curiosity, and learning across generations.

Registration is required for this event, and must be completed two hours prior to the start time. A library card and PIN are required for registration. If you do not have a card, click HERE to obtain one.
PLEASE NOTE:
1. Seating for the program will begin at 4:00 pm.
2. The maximum capacity of this venue is 30. Registered attendees will be seated first come, first serve. Bring your library card (physical or on the JaxLibrary app) for faster check-in.
3. Waitlisted attendees and walk-ins will be seated if seats are available. There may be a short wait as registered customers are seated.
4. All registered seats will be forfeited at 4:25 pm and made available to waitlisted and walk-in attendees. Registered attendees arriving after this time will be seated if seats are available.
5. A limited number of books will be given to school-age kids in attendance, first come, first serve.
