In this interactive workshop-style event, you will learn: How to create a hook to engage an editor as well as your reader Learn the basics of the research and revision process Participate in a mini brainstorming session to get your ideas flowing
Jennifer Swanson presents a 90-minute hands on workshop on the basics of writing and publishing a children’s book. She will be happy to answer your questions about writing, editing, and working with publishers. Following the program, attendees will have the opportunity to purchase books and have them signed.
About the Presenter: Jennifer Swanson is the author of 55 nonfiction books for kids. She is the creator and cohost of the award-winning Solve It! For Kids podcast, a science communicator, and former science teacher. Using her degree in chemistry from the US Naval Academy and her M.S. Ed in K-8 Science from Walden University, Jennifer's passion for science and technology resonates in all of her books but especially, Brain Games, named one of the 50 Best Science Books Ever by ThePlanets.org, Her books have received starred reviews, been on the Booklist ‘Best Tech’ books list, won four Florida Book Awards, a Parent's Choice Gold Award, and one was chosen as a 2021 Kirkus Best Books of the Year. Jennifer is an accomplished speaker at events and schools around the country, two Smithsonian Museums, the World Science Festival, TEDx Northwestern, and the Library of Congress’ National Book Festival. All registered seats will be forfeited at 6:55 pm and made available to waitlisted and walk-in attendees. Registered attendees arriving after this time will be seated if seats are available.
