Junior Lit Chat with Jenese Harris
"Leo it's Time : A Children's First Genealogy Bedtime Story"
Saturday, November 21
11:30am - 12:00pm
Highlands Regional
Children's Open AreaJenese Harris grew up in the Midwest surrounded by lots of family. However, some of her family were far away, so she would learn about them through her father, James Leonard Harris. These stories are what inspired Jenese to write a fictional story about Leo, a kid who helps other children learn about life and family. This book combines her love for family history and education. Harris has worked in television for over 20 years as a news anchor and meteorologist.
About the Book: Leo is an elementary school student who takes us on a journey through his day. Travel with Leo as he learns the different times of day, completes his chores, meets with his friends, goes to school and learns about his family.
More about the Author: Jenese Harris grew up in the Midwest surrounded by lots of family. However, some of her family were far away, so she would learn about them through her father, James Leonard Harris. Jenese recalls one story about her father's dad, Leonard Napoleon Harris, who worked hard for a railroad company. These stories are what inspired Jenese to write a fictional story about Leo, a kid who helps other children learn about life and family. Photos of her father as a child inspired Leo. This book combines her love for family history and education. Harris has worked in television for over 20 years as a news anchor and meteorologist.
