Meet nearly 40 local zinemakers, print your own zine on-site, engage with our all day JAM COMIC, and see veteran artist Leela Corman followed by a panel led by three acclaimed leading community zinesters- all at DCAZ 2023 at the Main Library, 1 pm to 5 pm.
Duval Comic and Zine Fest 2023 (DCAZ) is June 10th, 1 pm to 5 pm, at the Jacksonville Public Main Library.
See a variety of eclectic art from nearly 40 zinemakers, ranging in all styles, formats, and forms. Join in a Lit Chat program led by local comics podcaster Badr Milligan of The Short Box. Badr will be speaking with acclaimed artist, Leela Corman, creator of Unterzakhn and founding instructor at Sequential Artists Workshop. DCAZ will also feature a Forward Thinking panel, led by Andrew Kozlowski of UNF, Aysha Mishkin or Cork Arts District, and Emma Jenson of Sequential Artists Workshop.
The event will also feature an all-day JAM COMIC for visitors to come and add to the thrill of creating a collaborative comic on the fly. There will also be zine and comic programs dedicated specifically to ages 13-17 in the Teen room and a quiet lounge space, featuring a showing of Ghost World. Watch the film, draw, and snack.
Downtown meter parking is free on Saturday.
