Junior Artists (ages 5-8)

Get ready to get creative! Junior Artists (ages 5-8) is a live art program. Each week we read an exciting book and then create artwork inspired by our theme.

Here is the list of this month’s books:

Jan. 20-25 & Jan. 27-Feb. 1 
Theme: Try Something New 
Featured Book:  The Bear and the Piano by David Litchfield 
 

Feb. 3-Feb. 8 & Feb. 10-Feb. 15 
Theme: Black History Month: Makers and Doers   
Featured Book: Kicks by Van G Garrett  
  

Feb. 10-Feb. 15 
Note: This week we will have a special program to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the song, “Lift Every Voice and Sing” by James Weldon Johnson 
Featured Book: I Believe I Can by Grace Byers 
 

Feb. 17-Feb. 22 & Feb. 24-March 1 
Theme: Small but Mighty  
Featured Book: Nesting Dolls by Vanessa Brantley-Newton  

Attendance is limited and is first-come first-served. Please arrive early to check in. Check in starts 30 minutes prior to the start of the program. Late entry will not be permitted after 15 minutes past the program’s start time.

This program is intended for youth participants and their families. Large groups or organizations should send program requests to jplyouthservices@coj.net two days prior to the program. All requests may not be accommodated.
