Family Literacy Workshop

Building Vocabulary for Stronger Readers

Students Grades K-5 and their families are invited to join READ USA for a Family Literacy Workshop! Enhance vocabulary acquisition and deepen reading comprehension through engaging, at-home reading strategies.

This interactive session will equip families with practical techniques to expand and apply word knowledge effectively while reading.

Participants will explore ways to identify, understand, and use new vocabulary in meaningful contexts. The session includes a hands-on "Make and Take" activity, where families will create a tool to help students engage with new words, reinforce their meanings, and improve comprehension of texts.

By the end of the workshop, families will have:
