This Junior Lit Chat is a 30-minute presentation by author Vashti Harrison including time for audience Q&A. After the program there will be 30 minutes for a book signing with the author. A limited number of copies of Big will be given away to registered school-age kids in attendance, first come, first served. Other titles from Vashti Harrison and more will be for sale from The BookMark.
The entrance for this program will be at 303 N. Laura St. Street parking around the Main Library is free on Saturdays, and parking in the Library Garage at 33 W. Duval St. is available for a fee.
About the author: Vashti Harrison is the New York Times bestselling creator of Big, which was awarded the 2024 Caldecott Medal, a Coretta Scott King Book Award Author Honor, and a Coretta Scott King Book Award Illustrator Honor, in addition to being a National Book Award finalist. Registration is strongly encouraged for this event, and must be completed 24 hours prior to the start time. A library card and PIN are required for registration. If you do not have a card, click HERE to obtain one.
PLEASE NOTE:
1. Seating for the program will begin at 9am.
2. The maximum capacity of this venue is 100. Registered attendees will be seated first come, first serve. Bring your library card (physical or on the JaxLibrary app) for faster check-in.
3. Waitlisted attendees and walk-ins will be seated if seats are available. There may be a short wait as registered customers are seated.
4. All registered seats will be forfeited at 9:55am and made available to waitlisted and walk-in attendees. Registered attendees arriving after this time will be seated if seats are available.
5. Standing room will be available when all seats are taken.

7. The author will sign books after the program.
