Braiding Sweetgrass Book Club

with the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens

In collaboration with the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens, take a tour of the Spirit in the Land exhibit, followed by a book club discussion of Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer. The program will take place at the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens. No charge to enter the Museum if you are registered for the book club.

About the exhibit: Spirit in the Land (Nov 6, 2024 - Feb 9, 2025)

Contemporary artists addressing ecological concerns and their own relationships in the land within affected communities. 

Guiding Questions:   

• How do artists use their creative practice to celebrate their relationship with the land and address ecological concerns in their communities?
• How can art and nature (experiences with the Museum) help visitors appreciate the land? (and develop the mutual understanding, care, and respect necessary for the survival and flourishing of all communities?)  
• What can artworks reveal about the relationship between cultural identity and the land?
