Sensory Friendly Storytime (ages 2-5)

Your child enjoys stories, music, and movement in a small, welcoming environment. That’s why our program, designed for children ages 2-5 with sensory sensitivities, combines traditional storytime components with supportive elements. We’ve also limited attendance to enhance the experience.

December 30 - January 4 (All Library Locations Closed January 1st) 
Theme: Pets

January 6 - 11 
Theme: Frogs and Toads 
Featured Books: The Croaky Pokey by Ethan Long and A Hippy-Hoppy Toad by Peggy Archer 

January 13 - 18 
Theme: Colors 
Featured Books: Dog’s Colorful Day by Emma Dodd and Wow! Said the Owl by Tim Hopgood 

January 20 - 25 (All Library Locations Closed January 20th) 
Theme: Shapes 
Featured Books: All Year Round by Susan B. Katz and The Very Hungry Caterpillar Eats Dinner: A Shapes Book by Eric Carle 

January 27 – February 1 
Theme: Under the Sea 
Featured Books: Hooray for Fish by Lucy Cousins and Deep Sea Dive by Salina Yoon 

Registration is required for this event, and must be completed two hours prior to the start time. A library card is required for registration. If you do not have a card, click here to obtain a card. Please add the name of each participant in the program when completing registration.

Attendance is limited. Please arrive early to check in. Check in starts 30 minutes prior to the start of the program. When the program begins, unfilled registered spots will be made available to customers at a first come, first served basis.

This program is intended for youth participants and their families. Large groups or organizations should send program requests to jplyouthservices@coj.net two days prior to the program. All requests may not be accommodated.

Pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, accommodations for persons with disabilities are available upon request. Please allow 1–2 business days to process.
