Learn how to submit your self-published e-book(s) to the Indie Author Project so your work can be found by readers at Jacksonville Public Library and BiblioBoard Library users across the state of Florida. Once accepted into the Indie Florida Collection, your work may also be chosen by Library Journal for a nationwide collection and awarded an Indie Author Project Select Award. From there, it may be sold in curated collections to other e-book platforms, earning you usage-based royalties.
The Indie Author Project (IAP) is a publishing community that includes public libraries, authors, curators, and readers working together to connect library patrons with great indie-published books on the BiblioBoard Library discovery platform. Authors are able to submit e-books directly to IAP, which are then vetted by editorial partners like Library Journal and regional library editorial boards. Being selected by these curators can lead to expanded discovery, distribution, and networking opportunities.
Once accepted, your work will appear in the Indie Florida Collection and be available to readers here in Jacksonville (and all over Florida). The best of these books will be awarded the Indie Author Project Select Award and made available to readers throughout the US and Canada.
PRESENTER BIO: Nash Steele is the Senior Operations Coordinator for the Ebooks and Community Engagement Division at Lyrasis, where she works to expand ebook access in public libraries through her work with BiblioBoard and the Indie Author Project.
