This Junior Lit Chat Interview is a 30-minute presentation by author Mac Barnett including time for audience Q&A. After the program there will be 30 minutes for a book signing with the author. A limited number of copies of The First Cat in Space and the Wrath of the Paperclip will be given away to registered attendees, first come, first served. Happy Medium Books Café will be selling Mac's books and more at the program.
About the author: Mac Barnett is the ninth U.S. National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature, appointed by the Library of Congress and Every Child a Reader. He’s a New York Times-bestselling author of stories for children whose work has been translated into more than 30 languages and sold more than 5 million copies worldwide. Mac’s books have won many prizes, including two Caldecott Honors, three New York Times/New York Public Library Best Illustrated Awards, three E.B. White Read Aloud Awards, the Boston Globe-Horn Book Award, Germany’s Jugendliteraturpreis, China’s Chen Bochui International Children’s Literature Award, The Netherlands’ Silver Griffel, and Italy’s Premio Orbil.

Registration is required for this event, and must be completed 3 days prior to the start time. A library card and PIN are required for registration. If you do not have a card, click HERE to obtain one.
PLEASE NOTE:
1. Seating for the program will begin at 9:30 am.
2. The maximum capacity of this venue is 75. Registered attendees will be seated first come, first serve. Bring your library card (physical or on the JaxLibrary app) for faster check-in.
3. Waitlisted attendees and walk-ins will be seated if seats are available. There may be a short wait as registered customers are seated.
4. All registered seats will be forfeited at 9:55 am and made available to waitlisted and walk-in attendees. Registered attendees arriving after this time will be seated if seats are available.
5. A limited number of books will be given to school-age kids in attendance, first come, first serve. Happy Medium Books Café will be selling Mac's books and more at the program.
