Abe Erskine, comics editor, cartoonist, and Art League of Jacksonville instructor, presents a 60-minute workshop on writing strategies for any kind of writing with helpful tips for comic book story telling.
About the Program: Do you have a story idea that you cherish, but it feels way too overwhelming to actually make progress on? Writing doesn't happen overnight, but it doesn't have to be a painfully slow ordeal either. Using actionable and organized writing strategies, comics editor and creator Abe Erskine will help divide your process into manageable chunks that result in small victories instead of more lost time.
About the Presenter: Abe is an experienced comics editor, cartoonist, and Art League of Jacksonville instructor who loves learning about the stories his students hold most dear. He firmly believes anyone can draw with enough patience and is willing to prove it to any naysayers up for the challenge. For over seven years to date, Abe has worked as a full-time graphic novel colorist for clients such as Disney, Abrams, Macmillan, and Simon and Schuster. He previously served as an webcomic editor for Tapas Media, and his work is credited in over 500 episodes of officially localized Korean and Chinese webtoons on their platform. In his free time, Abe runs an indie comics collective named Fresh Press Comics Co. with fellow cartoonist pals Lief Bennett and Whit Wei where he writes comics and creates stationary sets for comic creators.
