Bypass the high cost of traditional publishing and get your book ready to share with the world with free tools from your library! Nash Steele of BiblioBoard presents a 1-hour hands-on workshop on formatting and exporting your manuscript for e-book or on-demand printing using Pressbooks Public, an online DIY book design and production platform. Bring your own device (recommended) so you can follow along.

Pressbooks: How to Format Your E-Book or Print-Ready Manuscript for Free: Whether you’re a seasoned author with multiple completed works or you’re just getting started writing a brand-new project, you can create beautifully designed book files for free with Jacksonville Public Library’s Pressbooks Public tool. This hands-on session will walk you through the entire process, step-by-step, from setting up a Pressbooks account through designing and exporting your book file(s). No graphic design skills or tech experience necessary!
Please bring your own laptop if you can, there will be a limited amount of laptops available for attendees use.
About the Presenter: Nash Steele is the Senior Operations Coordinator for the e-books and Community Engagement Division at Lyrasis, where she works to expand e-book access in public libraries through her work with BiblioBoard and the Indie Author Project.
