Richard Webb Jr. joins Lit Chat to discuss his book Boats Against the Current. Boats Against the Current is an essential document for anyone who has read The Great Gatsby and wondered at the fantastical world whose story it tells. After Barbara Probst Solomon wrote in a piece for The New Yorker, that Westport was the real setting for The Great Gatsby, Richard Webb Jr. knew he had to research the claim. Webb grew-up in Westport and always felt a connection between Fitzgerald's work and the town.
Boats Against the Current: The Honeymoon Summer of Scott and Zelda is the companion piece to Gatsby in Connecticut, a documentary about F. Scott and Zelda's wild summer of 1920.
