Join us in-person for a chat with multiple award-winning author and Jacksonville native, Deesha Philyaw. Spend time with her as she talks about her latest work, her writing process and more, and join in Q&A to get to know her better.

Join us for a chat with multiple award-winning author and Jacksonville native, Deesha Philyaw. Philyaw is the author of the short story collection The Secret Lives of Church Ladies, which will soon be adapted into an HBO Max series by Tessa Thompson's production company, Viva Maude. Philyaw will be interviewed by local writer and author, Nikesha Elise Williams.

Doors open at 6:00pm for the event. If you would like to purchase a book for the signing, you are encouraged to pre-order your copy from San Marco Books and More. You can choose to have the book shipped to you in advance, to have it held at the bookstore, or to pick it up at the library the night of the event. A book signing will take place after the event. 

Registration is required for this event, and must be completed two hours prior to the start time. A library card and PIN are required for registration. If you do not have a card, click HERE to obtain one.

Registered seats may be forfeited five minutes after start of program.
