Therapy dog-assisted reading gives children a unique experience, to read to a canine buddy in a safe environment.
Therapy dogs are specially trained for these kinds of activities and can help reduce your child’s stress and anxiety. Reading to dogs can boost reading skills in children as well as help with emotional and social skills, giving your child the opportunity to read to a canine buddy or companion in a safe and nonjudgmental environment. Drop-in between 4:30 to 5:30pm pm on Mondays ( Monthly) to give your child an opportunity to practice their reading skills one-on-one with a trained therapy dog. Spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. This activity is for children age 5-12 years old.
Attendance is limited, sign up required. Please arrive early to sign / check in. Check in starts 30 minutes prior to the start of the program.
