The Jacksonville Public Library and MOCA Jacksonville have partnered to bring you the Art & Conversations Screening Room. Grab the popcorn, dim the lights, and log on!
The Jacksonville Public Library and MOCA Jacksonville have partnered to bring you the Art & Conversations Series, a special series of Library tracks that are responsive to MOCA's exhibitions.
In connection with MOCA's current Project Atrium installation, Making Great Lives Matter, by New Orleans-based artist Carl Joe Williams, we present Street Fighting Men for this edition of The Screening Room. The film explores the conditions of present-day Detroit and follows three men over the course of three years as they work through circumstance and loss to improve their situations, as well as their community.
Join the conversation with MOCA staff and UNF's Chyna Posey as we discuss the connections between the film and the message of the artwork post-screening.
Not able to make it to the online screening? Library Card-holders have the ability to stream this film through the Library's Kanopy portal before the discussion!
Other perks for card-holders include:
Free access to MOCA's galleries during the Art & Conversations Series on the final Friday of each month.
$10 off MOCA's family level membership when purchased at the front desk or by emailing shannon.cullen@unf.edu.
Pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, accommodations for persons with disabilities are available upon request. Please allow 1–2 business days to process. Last-minute requests will be accepted, but may not be possible to fulfill. Please ask for Learning Services at 255-2665 or email JPLPrograms@coj.net.
