Using the book, Whatcha Mean What's a Zine? by Mark Todd and Esther Pearl Watson (as well as several zines from local creators), teens (ages 12-17) will explore what a zine is and how to create one of their own! These hour-long programs include an icebreaker, games and discussion to kickstart your creative thinking. Then, you'll get zine-making supplies and instructions for making your own!
Join us in the Teen Room at 1:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. to make your mini-zine! When you're done, you can donate your zine to the Library, trade it with a fellow zinester at the festival, or take it home.
Registration is encouraged for this event. A library card is required for registration. If you do not have a card, click here to obtain a card. Please add the name of each participant in the program when completing registration.
Attendance is limited. Please arrive early to check in. Check in starts 30 minutes prior to the start of the program. When the program begins, unfilled registered spots will be made available to customers at a first come, first served basis.
Pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, accommodations for persons with disabilities are available upon request. Please allow 1–2 business days to process. Last-minute requests will be accepted, but may not be possible to fulfill. Please ask for Learning Services at 255-2665 or email JPLprograms@coj.net.
