Astronomy is the study of everything in the universe beyond Earth’s atmosphere. That includes objects we can see with our naked eyes like the Sun, the Moon, the planets, and the stars. It also includes objects we can only see with telescopes or other instruments like faraway galaxies and tiny particles. UNF's Astronomy club was created in 2012. The club hosts many events, including monthly Astronomy Night sessions to enjoy viewing and learning about the wonders of the night sky. These free and open-to-the-public sessions are great for families. The department also has various telescopes of different types and sizes available for observation.
