This year marks the 125th anniversary of the song Lift Every Voice and Sing written by Jacksonville’s own James Weldon Johnson. Join us to commemorate this milestone with a special event to celebrate the beloved hymn that has been declared the Black National Anthem by the NAACP.
This special event program for ages 5-12 will revolve around the song Lift Every Voice and Sing. Join us to explore an uplifting story, discover the history of the song and the role it played in the civil rights movement, and create our own affirmations to carry us into the future.
